FAQ
Predictions & Scoring
Exact scorelines earn 4 points. A correct non-draw winner with the right goal difference earns 3 points. A correct outcome with a different goal difference earns 2 points. A correct draw that is not the exact scoreline also earns 2 points. Incorrect outcomes earn 0 points.
Each prediction round locks 30 minutes before the first match in that round starts. After that point, saved predictions can no longer be changed. Any confirmed fixture you have not predicted by then receives a 0-0 default.
Yes. You can save predictions for confirmed fixtures without completing the whole round. Empty predictions are fine while editing, but a submitted fixture needs both scores filled in. Unknown-team fixtures stay disabled until both teams are confirmed.
If you do not save a prediction for a confirmed fixture before its round locks, Scoracle gives you a system default prediction of 0-0. That default is scored like any other prediction, so it can still earn points for an exact 0-0 or another draw. Tournament Picks do not get defaults; missed Tournament Picks score 0 bonus points.
Some knockout fixtures depend on earlier results, so the teams may not be known yet. You can only enter predictions once both teams in a fixture are confirmed.
No. Scoracle scores the match result after normal time or extra time. If a knockout match is tied after extra time and decided on penalties, the prediction outcome is still a draw.
Tournament Picks
Tournament Picks are bonus predictions for the champion, runner-up, third-place team, and Golden Boot winner. They lock before the opening match, count in every league you belong to, and require three different medal teams plus one active-tournament Golden Boot player.
Leagues & Standings
No. You make one set of predictions for each match. The same predictions count in every private league you have joined, as well as the Overall league.
The Overall league is the platform-wide leaderboard for the active tournament. Verified users are added automatically.
Each private league has a permanent join code. Share it with the people you want in the league; anyone with the code can join. Join codes are case-insensitive.
Yes. Verified users can join during the tournament. For match rounds whose deadlines have already passed, missed confirmed fixtures receive the same 0-0 default predictions. Future open rounds can still be predicted normally.
Not currently. Once you join a private league, you stay in it for the tournament.
Yes, if you own the private league and no other members have joined yet. Once another member joins, the league stays in place.
League standings are sorted by total points first, then exact scores, then correct outcomes. If players are still tied after that, nicknames are used as a final deterministic tiebreaker.
Account, Reminders & Privacy
Yes. Reminder emails are available from account settings. They are sent to opted-in verified users who are missing at least one user-entered prediction for a round with a deadline that day.
Yes. You can change your nickname from your account settings. Your nickname is what other users see in leagues.
